About

Dr. Kristine Elsen grew up in Southern Wisconsin before completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Certificate in Global Health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After earning her DVM from the University of Wisconsin, she moved out East to complete a small/exotic animal rotating internship at Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Massachusetts. It was there that she fully realized her passion for the variety of knowledge needed and compassion required for emergency medicine. She has since been happy to practice as an emergency veterinarian at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital.

When not caring for pets and their people, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 11 year old tabby cat, “Leo.” They enjoy supporting Badger Volleyball, going to Red Sox games, trying new types of cheese/ice cream, and traveling. She still has family back in Wisconsin and tries to make it home often to spoil her two nephews and adopted canine “siblings”.
