About

Dr. Sage Hubert is a native of Newport, New Hampshire. She attended Ursinus College in Pennsylvania where she received her undergraduate degree in biology. After graduating from Ursinus College in 2013, she then lived on the island of Grenada where she attended the School of Veterinary Medicine at St. George’s University. It was during her third year of veterinary school that she discovered her passion for cardiology. Following completion of veterinary school in 2017, Dr. Hubert became a rotating intern at VCA Southpaws in Northern Virginia. Immediately after, she then accepted a one-year cardiology specialty internship at a private practice in Southern California before pursuing another year-long cardiology specialty internship at Texas A&M University. After her year in Texas, Dr. Hubert was accepted to a three-year cardiology residency at a private practice in Phoenix, Arizona which she completed in July of 2023.

Dr. Hubert is thrilled to become a part of the Port City team. Her special cardiac interests include congenital heart disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, interventional procedures, and management of arrhythmias as well as congestive heart failure. She is trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques (transvenous pacemaker implantation, patent ductus arteriosus occlusion, and balloon valvuloplasty). Dr. Hubert strives for excellent communication not only with clients but with the referring veterinary community as she believes that patients with heart disease thrive when the owner, primary veterinarian, and cardiologist are all supporting characters.

Aside from veterinary cardiology, Dr. Hubert enjoys participating in athletic activities such as running, soccer, basketball, skiing, scuba diving, and hiking. She has two dogs, one from the island of Grenada (Calliste) and one from Texas (Beauregard), who both enjoy playing fetch and going on long walks. Dr. Hubert is excited to return home to New Hampshire where she can spend more time with her family as well as enjoy all four seasons again.
